Every oil I've tried has helped to alleviate some health issue or symptom. Peppermint is the most fragrant, pure peppermint available. I use it on my hands in the morning and breathe in as aromatherapy to give me energy. On Guard is for the immune system and it has a wonderful clove smell. I put a small amount on my tongue or toothbrush or even gargle with it and I feel better in minutes. Past Tense helps get rid of a headache in minutes. Deep Blue helps with muscle pain and arthritis. Frankincense is from the actual Frankincense tree in the middle east and heals most everything and is very calming. There are so many more... If you'd like to know more about doTerra, please leave me a comment below or contact me at HerbertR57@att.net

These pumpkins were fun to make. I just painted them with acrylic paints and added pearls, jewels, ribbons, glitter paint, crown and slipper. It's a new way to decorate for the fall if you don't want the traditional orange pumpkin or Halloween centerpiece. It also works really well for a special little princess tea party.

Just get some wood or cardboard stars from Michaels or Joanns and paint them gold and silver and glue them to a witches hat and add metalic garland. It goes from witch to wizard in minutes. <br />

I found it on another blog and it's in a lady named Penny's bedroom. She used a TP frame and then drapped it with vintage wedding dresses. I'm going to make one on a smaller scale for my room. I went to Hoffs Hut Restaurant near my home and bought a chocolate wipeout cake. I didn't have time to bake a cake this large and knew it wouldn't taste as good either. I added a chocolate bunny and eggs. It was the hit of the day. We added candles later and used it for one of the kids birthday before the day ended. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The first is Epsom Salt. This can be purchased at any grocery store, drug store or discount store. One cup of Epsom Salt in a really warm bath restores the Niacin to your body and helps to relieve aches and pains when you're sick. </span><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wjkloEI3Ej0/T11hlJN5RAI/AAAAAAAAAas/hbdZ5tUPZ4A/s1600/HPIM1856.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wjkloEI3Ej0/T11hlJN5RAI/AAAAAAAAAas/hbdZ5tUPZ4A/s400/HPIM1856.JPG" width="302px" yda="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;">The second is cold pressed Caster Oil. I use the one made by Home Health. This Caster Oil is for external use only. It heals bruises, scratches, bites, gets rid of headaches and general aches and pains. You apply a generous amount of oil to the injured area and place a dry cloth over it and then wrap in an ace bandage over night. This is one of the best natural healing aids I've ever used.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aTt0mlwQHuc/T11ilrnoR7I/AAAAAAAAAa0/4MWkJuiwv-8/s1600/HPIM1853.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aTt0mlwQHuc/T11ilrnoR7I/AAAAAAAAAa0/4MWkJuiwv-8/s400/HPIM1853.JPG" width="303px" yda="true" /></a></div>Robin's Nesthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466664200047303307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7226302369684598261.post-85198979375059999172012-03-25T13:47:00.001-07:002012-03-25T15:49:17.860-07:00Baby Shower IdeasBaby showers are the ideal time to get creative. My daughter is having a baby very soon and I decided to make a onesie with matching headband. The iron on transfer was easy to apply and I topped it off with a lady bug inspired hair clip that clips on easily to any headband. I'm also attaching a picture of the beautiful cupcakes made by her very special caterer and good friend and the darling sucker bouquet that was given as a shower game prize.<br />

I put together several hair clips for the little girls in our family. Here is an easy How To for making them. <br />
Please contact me <a href="mailto:RobinNest12@yahoo.com">RobinNest12@yahoo.com</a> to order clips and headbands.<br />
<br />
Step 1 - Purchase Tub of Foamies at your local craft store. Also purchase some Tacky Glue. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fsN7rXqAhPo/T11cPgM5GbI/AAAAAAAAAZ8/sbpR7fkYqN0/s1600/HPIM1881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241px" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fsN7rXqAhPo/T11cPgM5GbI/AAAAAAAAAZ8/sbpR7fkYqN0/s320/HPIM1881.JPG" width="320px" yda="true" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X745uD3__Pc/T11dUWnaMmI/AAAAAAAAAaM/w8zXC-Xu_AI/s1600/HPIM1869.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X745uD3__Pc/T11dUWnaMmI/AAAAAAAAAaM/w8zXC-Xu_AI/s320/HPIM1869.JPG" width="243px" yda="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Step 2 - Choose desired flower shapes for each clip. Purchase hair clips at your local craft store or beauty supply.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bqaKb0YEj8s/T11d6316ZZI/AAAAAAAAAaU/EKvAeFRcnbI/s1600/HPIM1857.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303px" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bqaKb0YEj8s/T11d6316ZZI/AAAAAAAAAaU/EKvAeFRcnbI/s400/HPIM1857.JPG" width="400px" yda="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Step 3 - Glue different size flowers together with tacky glue and top with a decorative button. Let the glue dry and then glue the clip to the flower. Place some wax paper inside the clip so you don't glue the clip together. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7lxoYvpQuY4/T11jw0DfmmI/AAAAAAAAAa8/W7SLkdU1okk/s1600/HPIM1861.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7lxoYvpQuY4/T11jw0DfmmI/AAAAAAAAAa8/W7SLkdU1okk/s400/HPIM1861.JPG" width="303px" yda="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I also made some hair clips using silk daisies from my local craft store. I cut the stem/wire off and glued the hairclip to the back of the flower. These can be worn as a hair clip or clipped on to a headband.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4CWsAiQ_FNE/T11fZu-VDiI/AAAAAAAAAak/qP1kRxYu7Hc/s1600/HPIM1859.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303px" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4CWsAiQ_FNE/T11fZu-VDiI/AAAAAAAAAak/qP1kRxYu7Hc/s400/HPIM1859.JPG" width="400px" yda="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div>Robin's Nesthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466664200047303307noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7226302369684598261.post-26682073387148725762012-03-04T16:20:00.006-08:002012-03-21T09:03:01.073-07:00Easter Mantle 2012As soon as I took down the Valentine Mantle I decided to put out my Easter decorations. My daughter hosted her first Christmas and cooked her first turkey. Everything turned out great from the table decorations we used from my mom's Christmas tea to the turkey and all the trimmings. Yummy! She did a fabulous job on everything. This year I made all the adult girls in our family a bunchy scarf. I also made soup mixes and homemade treats for the kids - chocolate covered marshmallows with candy cane stick. It was wonderful spending time with most of our family. We missed our loved ones who could not make the trip.<br />

I used everything I had stored away in boxes to create these Christmas jars. They are waterless snowglobes using canning jars. I glued the trees and figures in the bottom of the jar with Tacky glue and then added the snow. I painted the lids black with acrylic paint and added a snowflake ornament with red rafia. I plan to give these as gifts to special people. Making gifts this year has been economical and a lot of fun.<br />

They are made from sheet music or old book pages. They are a beautiful addition to any gift, especially for Christmas. <br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> <img border="0" height="243px" oda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6TLmKPyetP8/TuY-jc93ORI/AAAAAAAAAU4/dPfxYBMzens/s320/HPIM1578.JPG" width="320px" /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UbQxbL-wB3E/TuZAESWwq7I/AAAAAAAAAVA/beeCJY9XExM/s1600/HPIM1581.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243px" oda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UbQxbL-wB3E/TuZAESWwq7I/AAAAAAAAAVA/beeCJY9XExM/s320/HPIM1581.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">First you take a piece of sheet music and copy it - double sided. If you are using a book page with words rather than music on it, just find an old book and tear out the pages one by one. Your flowers will be smaller using a book. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hZmuFvoBpfc/TuZAh_EEU6I/AAAAAAAAAVI/2Wen2YUJ_IY/s1600/HPIM1585.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243px" oda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hZmuFvoBpfc/TuZAh_EEU6I/AAAAAAAAAVI/2Wen2YUJ_IY/s320/HPIM1585.JPG" width="320px" /></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Cut a perfect square out of the page and then draw a spiral circle on the page.Then cut the page following the lines you just drew. You will then have a long spiral looking piece of paper. Start rolling from the big end in and keep the center tight. You will soon have a beautiful rose. Secure the bottom of the rose with hot glue to hold in place. Enjoy</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h_t-G8XmQr8/TuZA07W2elI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/tKOROlgjoNw/s1600/HPIM1586.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243px" oda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h_t-G8XmQr8/TuZA07W2elI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/tKOROlgjoNw/s320/HPIM1586.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><br />

I have the most fun doing holiday mantles. This year I used shades of purple on my mantle. I found sales at Michaels and Joanns to add sparkle to my mantle along with some canned snow. I'm also posting a previous mantle done in red. Happy Holidays everyone. <br />

It's affordable and has many uses. I had a bolt of white muslin left from a patio canopy I made last summer and decided to use it around the house for my Christmas decorations. I first used it around the base of my Christmas tree and then decided to use it under my gingerbread village to give it a snowy look. It turned out great. I also wanted to share some pics from a Christmas Tea Party my mom had today that I helped her decorate for.<br /><br />Gingerbread village on muslin<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 347px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682483697916055954" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vAF_L1tgkjk/Ttw80PA8EZI/AAAAAAAAATY/6Bjr4MwcjzQ/s320/HPIM1565.JPG" /><br />Christmas Tea Party <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 386px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 283px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682484122277237538" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NMYZIee8Cd8/Ttw9M74h0yI/AAAAAAAAATk/hqauJ61nvyI/s320/securedownload%255B2%255D.jpg" /> <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 382px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682484613565811314" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OUNZg2jit58/Ttw9piE2inI/AAAAAAAAATw/nwyefjxUlsM/s320/securedownload%255B1%255D.jpg" />Robin's Nesthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466664200047303307noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7226302369684598261.post-21540893358939439292011-11-23T16:29:00.000-08:002011-11-23T16:37:35.733-08:00Gratitude is an AttitudeHappy Thanksgiving everyone. Even though life is difficult for everyone, if we stop every day and count the things we are grateful for and give thanks, it all seems bearable. Gratitude is an Attitude. I've begun to adopt a new way of thinking. I keep a little tea cup in my kitchen near my plants that's always full of water to remind me that my cup is full, not empty. I say outloud all the things I'm grateful for every day. As I drive the streets of CA and see so many homeless people, I say a prayer outloud thanking God for everything I have and asking him to provide homes for those people. Take a moment this Thanksgiving and remember all that you have and you will be surprised how long this list it. Enjoy your turkey and pumpkin pie and don't forget those who are less fortunate at this time of year and reach out to them if you can. Happy Thanksgiving.Robin's Nesthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466664200047303307noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7226302369684598261.post-90160271364481937602011-10-30T16:18:00.000-07:002011-10-30T16:27:40.723-07:00Happy Halloween 2011<div><br /><div>Happy Halloween 2011 everyone.
