The lace tree

This tree is absolutely darling.  I found it on another blog and it's in a lady named Penny's bedroom.  She used a TP frame and then drapped it with vintage wedding dresses.  I'm going to make one on a smaller scale for my room.  Happy Holidays

Getting Creative with Playdough

I rediscovered the fun of Playdough through my little ones.  I may turn these into pins to wear.  You just never know what you can may next.

Mothers Day Table

This past week I had a great Mothers Day with my Mom and Daughter.  I decided to do the table in black and white decor.  I'm getting quite a collection of dishes.

Fabulous Easter Treats

I just wanted to share this fun, super simple Easter cake.  I went to Hoffs Hut Restaurant near my home and bought a chocolate wipeout cake.  I didn't have time to bake a cake this large and knew it wouldn't taste as good either.  I added a chocolate bunny and eggs.  It was the hit of the day.  We added candles later and used it for one of the kids birthday before the day ended.

Naturopathy Healing

Having studied Naturopathy and Holistic Nutrition to obtain my degree, I learned about many simple home remedies that work so well.
The first is Epsom Salt.  This can be purchased at any grocery store, drug store or discount store.  One cup of Epsom Salt in a really warm bath restores the Niacin to your body and helps to relieve aches and pains when you're sick.

The second is cold pressed Caster Oil.  I use the one made by Home Health.  This Caster Oil is for external use only.  It heals bruises, scratches, bites, gets rid of headaches and general aches and pains.  You apply a generous amount of oil to the injured area and place a dry cloth over it and then wrap in an ace bandage over night.  This is one of the best natural healing aids I've ever used.

Baby Shower Ideas

Baby showers are the ideal time to get creative.  My daughter is having a baby very soon and I decided to make a onesie with matching headband.  The iron on transfer was easy to apply and I topped it off with a lady bug inspired hair clip that clips on easily to any headband.  I'm also attaching a picture of the beautiful cupcakes made by her very special caterer and good friend and the darling sucker bouquet that was given as a shower game prize.

Vintage Barbie is Back

Vintage Barbie is back.  I spotted this at the Toy Store and it brought tears to my eyes.  What memories.  I had a Barbie case very similar to this one in another color.  I stood there remembering way back to when I loved playing with Barbies.  I won’t say what year it was.  My first/vintage Barbie with the blonde pony tail, doll case and clothes were accidentally thrown away when we moved years ago. I plan to add Barbies to my toyroom for my little ones who come to visit so they can experience the Barbie fun.

Foamie Hair Clips How To

Little girls headbands with clip-on bows, flowers and felt creations are so popular right now.  I put together several hair clips for the little girls in our family.  Here is an easy How To for making them.
Please contact me RobinNest12@yahoo.com to order clips and headbands.

Step 1 - Purchase Tub of Foamies at your local craft store.  Also purchase some Tacky Glue.

Step 2 - Choose desired flower shapes for each clip.  Purchase hair clips at your local craft store or beauty supply.

Step 3 - Glue different size flowers together with tacky glue and top with a decorative button.  Let the glue dry and then glue the clip to the flower.  Place some wax paper inside the clip so you don't glue the clip together.

I also made some hair clips using silk daisies from my local craft store.  I cut the stem/wire off and glued the hairclip to the back of the flower.  These can  be worn as a hair clip or clipped on to a headband.

As soon as I took down the Valentine Mantle I decided to put out my Easter decorations.  It's a bit full, but I like it.  Kinda yummy and whimsical at the same time.  These decorating treasures were gathered over the years from various craft stores and boutiques.  Happy Spring everyone....
