It's time to break out all the boxes of holiday decorations and get in the mood and the spirit of Christmas. These are my decorations from last year. I'll modify them slightly this year and may do a gold and blue tree. Happy Holidays.

Every oil I've tried has helped to alleviate some health issue or symptom. Peppermint is the most fragrant, pure peppermint available. I use it on my hands in the morning and breathe in as aromatherapy to give me energy. On Guard is for the immune system and it has a wonderful clove smell. Princess pumpkin centerpiece. These pumpkins were fun to make. I just painted them with acrylic paints and added pearls, jewels, ribbons, glitter paint, crown and slipper. It's a new way to decorate for the fall if you don't want the traditional orange pumpkin or Halloween centerpiece. It also works really well for a special little princess tea party.
This is so super simple. Just get some wood or cardboard stars from Michaels or Joanns and paint them gold and silver and glue them to a witches hat and add metalic garland. It goes from witch to wizard in minutes.
Decorating in a small living space is fun. This is my fall mantel using the back of a kitchen counter that faces the diningroom in my small place.
This tree is absolutely darling. I found it on another blog and it's in a lady named Penny's bedroom. She used a TP frame and then drapped it with vintage wedding dresses. I'm going to make one on a smaller scale for my room. Happy Holidays
This past week I had a great Mothers Day with my Mom and Daughter. I decided to do the table in black and white decor. I'm getting quite a collection of dishes.

I just wanted to share this fun, super simple Easter cake. I went to Hoffs Hut Restaurant near my home and bought a chocolate wipeout cake. I didn't have time to bake a cake this large and knew it wouldn't taste as good either. I added a chocolate bunny and eggs. It was the hit of the day. We added candles later and used it for one of the kids birthday before the day ended.

Baby showers are the ideal time to get creative. My daughter is having a baby very soon and I decided to make a onesie with matching headband. The iron on transfer was easy to apply and I topped it off with a lady bug inspired hair clip that clips on easily to any headband. I'm also attaching a picture of the beautiful cupcakes made by her very special caterer and good friend and the darling sucker bouquet that was given as a shower game prize.

As soon as I took down the Valentine Mantle I decided to put out my Easter decorations. It's a bit full, but I like it. Kinda yummy and whimsical at the same time. These decorating treasures were gathered over the years from various craft stores and boutiques. Happy Spring everyone....

As I put away all the holiday decorations, I began to realize how many vignettes I had in my house. I love interior design. I'd like to share a few with you.
Christmas 2011 was spent in the Inland Empire in sunny California. My daughter hosted her first Christmas and cooked her first turkey. Everything turned out great from the table decorations we used from my mom's Christmas tea to the turkey and all the trimmings. Yummy! She did a fabulous job on everything. This year I made all the adult girls in our family a bunchy scarf. I also made soup mixes and homemade treats for the kids - chocolate covered marshmallows with candy cane stick. It was wonderful spending time with most of our family. We missed our loved ones who could not make the trip.
